How To Prepare/Cook Buddha Bowl

Origin: The Buddha Bowl is a modern, plant-based meal inspired by Buddhist monastic eating traditions. It combines a variety of vegetables, grains, and proteins in one nourishing bowl. The name originates from the idea of a bowl filled with wholesome, balanced ingredients, reflecting mindfulness and simplicity

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa or brown rice
  • ½ cup chickpeas, roasted
  • ½ avocado, sliced
  • ½ cup steamed broccoli
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon tahini dressing
  • Lemon wedge for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook quinoa or brown rice as per package instructions.
  2. Roast chickpeas in the oven with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes.
  3. Assemble the bowl: Arrange quinoa, chickpeas, avocado, broccoli, carrots, and red cabbage.
  4. Drizzle with tahini dressing and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice before serving.
