Origin:
Rösti is a Swiss potato dish, originally a breakfast staple for farmers in the Canton of Bern. Over time, it spread throughout Switzerland and became a national dish, often paired with cheese, ham, or eggs. Rösti is similar to hash browns but is thicker and crispier, traditionally made with butter or animal fat for a golden crust. It is now served across Europe, particularly in Germany, Austria, and France.
